The Car
Estate-car room, saloon-car price
Every transfer is run in an estate car, not the standard saloon most operators send — extra boot space at the same fixed fare. Four passengers, two large suitcases and hand luggage fit as standard; flag it in advance if you need more room and we'll bring a bigger vehicle.
Coverage Area
An Oxford-based taxi that knows the way to Gatwick
Pickups run from anywhere across Oxford and the villages around it — city centre, Headington, Cowley and Summertown included — plus any Oxford University college, the John Radcliffe Hospital, and Oxford Business Park and Oxford Science Park out in Cowley.
Based near the Bodleian Library, Christ Church, the Ashmolean Museum, or getting off a train at Oxford railway station? City-centre pickups are just as straightforward as the outer towns — your fare comes from the exact address you give us, not a rough zone on a map.
The same fixed-fare transfer runs from the towns around Oxford too: Kidlington , Abingdon , Witney , Bicester , Didcot , Wallingford , Woodstock , Thame , Carterton , Wantage , Chipping Norton , Faringdon , Banbury . Start wherever you like — the fare is agreed up front and holds firm on the day.
One fixed fare, either Gatwick terminal
Pick your terminal in the quote form above and that's the price you'll pay — a slow M25 or a later departure doesn't move it. Not sure which terminal you're flying from? Check your booking confirmation or boarding pass, or read our North vs South Terminal guide.
The Route
How far is Oxford from Gatwick?
Roughly 85 miles separate the two, usually covered via the A34 and M4 or the M40 before picking up the M25 for the run in. In normal traffic that's 100–135 minutes door to terminal; build in extra time for the weekday peaks, when the M25 near the Gatwick spur backs up. None of that moves your fixed fare.
Every transfer runs in an estate car — more boot room than a standard saloon, same fixed fare — with space for 4 passengers, 2 large suitcases and hand luggage. Need more room for extra bags, golf clubs, or a bigger group? Say so at booking and we'll size the car accordingly.
Rail doesn't run direct between the two — nearly every train journey needs a change, usually at Reading. Our taxi vs train guide weighs up the time and cost either way.
Good To Know
Oxford and Gatwick, briefly
Oxford is home to the University of Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world, along with landmarks such as the Bodleian Library, Christ Church, and the Ashmolean Museum.
Gatwick ranks as the UK's second-busiest airport, split across two terminals — North and South — joined by a free automated transit. It's a key base for short-haul and leisure carriers including easyJet, alongside long-haul and charter operators reaching destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
01
Agreed before you set off
One number at booking, covering your Oxford address through to your Gatwick terminal. That's the total — no meter ticking over, no card surcharge, no drop-off charge bolted on afterwards.
02
We watch your flight, not just the clock
Departure times shift without much warning — we track your outbound flight and move your Oxford pickup to match, so a schedule change never turns into a mad dash to check-in.
03
Your car, your driver, no sharing
One booking books one car, for you alone — not a shared shuttle picking up other passengers en route, and not a different driver than the one confirmed at booking. The estate car and driver you're assigned are the ones outside your door.

Common Questions
Before you book
How much does a taxi from Oxford to Gatwick cost? +
£139 for the whole car, fixed, from Oxford city centre to either Gatwick terminal — agreed before you travel and unaffected by traffic, waiting time, or which terminal you're flying from. Towns further from Oxford carry a small, clearly stated distance surcharge; see our full price list for the exact fare to your address.
Is the price really fixed, even in bad traffic? +
Yes. The fare you're quoted covers your exact pickup address and terminal — it won't move if the M25 is crawling, if a diversion adds miles, or if the journey simply takes longer than expected. Only a different address or terminal changes a fixed quote.
What happens if my departure time changes? +
We're tracking your outbound flight number. If the airline brings your departure forward or pushes it back, we shift your Oxford pickup time to match, so you still reach the terminal in good time — at no extra charge.
Is the driver licensed and insured? +
Yes. Every driver holds a licensed private hire driver badge, and the vehicle is licensed and fully insured for hire and reward, in line with UK private hire regulations.
How much luggage can I bring? +
Our estate car takes up to 4 passengers with 2 large suitcases and hand luggage comfortably — more boot space than a standard saloon, at the same fixed fare. Flag any extra bags, golf clubs, or a car seat when you book, so the right vehicle turns up.
Do you charge more for early morning or late-night pickups? +
No. The fixed fare is the same whatever time your flight departs, early-morning starts and late-night departures included — worth knowing given how many Gatwick flights leave before 7am.
Can I change or cancel my booking? +
Yes. Date, time, or address can be amended free of charge, and cancellation is free up to 2 hours before pickup. Let us know as early as you can if your plans shift.
Do you provide child seats? +
Yes, on request at no extra charge — tell us the number and ages of children travelling when you book so the right seats are fitted in advance.
How do I pay? +
By card online when you book, or by card or cash directly with the driver. No card surcharge either way — the fixed fare is the fixed fare.
Do you offer accounts for business or college bookings? +
Yes. Oxford colleges, university departments, and local businesses can set up an account for regular Gatwick transfers, with invoiced billing instead of paying per trip.
Which Gatwick terminal will I need? +
It comes down to your airline, not which terminal sits closer to Oxford — check your booking confirmation or boarding pass. Our North Terminal and South Terminal guides list which airlines typically use each one.
